Congratulations to the Marching Band for a fantastic showing at this year's Bands of America Regional Championship! With the highest score in school history at a BOA event, the band earned national recognition by being named as regional finalists for the fourth year in a row.

Congratulations once again to the Milton Marching Band! In addition to earning the rating of “Superior” at Saturday's Carrollton High School "Legacy of Champions" competition, the band received honors for 1st in class (and division) colorguard, percussion and overall band. Furthermore, the band received the "Don Hall Outstanding Music Award" for the highest music performance caption score of the day. At the end of the awards ceremony (and for the second time this season), the band was named “Grand Champions” with the highest overall score out of the eighteen competing groups. Congratulations, Eagles!

Great job to everyone at the Creekview Marching Band Competition! The band was named Grand Champions with the highest overall score, placing 1st out of 22 groups in addition to bringing home caption and overall awards for most outstanding Colorguard and Percussion along with the award for High Musicianship. Congratulations to all!

Thank you to everyone who participated in yesterday's drum major auditions and election of senior officers. Congratulations to Izzy Brown, Kory Mitchell and Anika Vennel for being selected as drum majors for the 2018 Marching Band. Also, congratulations to Smera Dhal for being elected as the band's student president and to Ed Katzmark for being elected to the position of student Vice President. Other leadership positions and show announcement will happen next Wednesday, with a leadership meeting to follow Thursday after school.

It’s time – registration for the band banquet is now open. Our annual Milton Band Banquet will be held Friday, May 11, 2018 at Marriott Alpharetta (5750 Windward Pkwy.). All Band and Color Guard students and parents please join us for a fun evening where we will enjoy a recap of a great year, honor each student and applaud our seniors. Dinner for the evening is an Italian buffet – Molto Bene! Doors open at 6:30pm and dinner will be served at 7:00pm. All band students, freshman through seniors, parents and other guests, are invited to attend and can register using the link below. Registration closes on Sunday, May 6 at midnight so make sure to register soon!

Congratulations to the Indoor Drumline for their first place finish at the Georgia Indoor Percussion Association's competition held at North Forsyth High School this past weekend!

Congratulations to the Wind Ensemble for a spectacular performance at Emory University on Friday evening! The group was the first high school band invited to perform alongside the Emory Winds in a combined performance featuring both groups. All three Milton wind bands will perform next week at Large Group Performance Evaluations held this year at Johns Creek High School.

Good news for tonight and tomorrow's Wind Ensemble performance. The district has approved both, so will proceed as scheduled. MHS is currently open for anyone needing instruments or music. Students should report to Centennial (in concert attire) by 5:30 pm with their instrument and music. The concert will begin at 7:30pm with MHS, and conclude with the CSU Schwob Wind Ensemble (students are required to stay to the end). Thanks!

Congratulations to the members of the Milton Band selected to this year's GMEA All-State Band and Orchestra Program! The $25.00 fee for this event, and also the $25.00 fee for those participating in District Honor Band are due by Friday to the band room lockbox. Mrs. Petros is organizing the all-state carpool (and hotel rooms) and will be in touch with parents of students selected soon with details.
