Percussion Concert November 22nd
The Cambridge, Milton, and Roswell percussion programs have the very exciting opportunity to host Jim Casella as a composer in residence.
Jim Casella is internationally recognized as one of today's most prolific arrangers for marching percussion. Casella has served as a composer/arranger for the Santa Clara Vanguard, and The Cavaliers, 7-time world champion drum and bugle corps from Rosemont, Illinois.
We hope you'll join us for a concert of his music on Sunday, November 22 at 3:00pm in the Cambridge High School Auditorium!

Senior Night Schedule for Parents
6:30pm--Parents of seniors assemble on the track in front of where the band sits in the stadium. (You will still need to pay to enter the stadium.) After the band marches in, parents and seniors will line up in alphabetical order by last name for the introductions and announcements.
6:40pm--When your child’s name is called, proceed under the arch, pause for the photographer (Adriana Marchese) to take a picture. There will also be an opportunity to take pictures with additional family members, if desired, immediately following the picture under the arch with a different photographer so please be sure these family members are on the track as well. Once the pictures are taken, you may go sit in the stands.

Milton Band Concert Reception: Bake Items Needed
Calling all bakers! And those that know where to buy good desserts!
Our first Band concert of the year is Thursday, October 8th at 7pm in the Milton High School auditorium.
Parents new to Milton Band: We host a FREE receptions at the conclusion of our concerts to allow the kids to socialize and have refreshments after their performance. They really look forward to this, and it has become a tradition at Milton.
The Hospitality Team is awarding volunteer hours for band parents who contribute baked goods to be shared at the reception. You will earn one volunteer hour for every dozen dessert items you bring. Please remember – we need FINGER desserts – nothing that requires a fork or spoon. If you want/need your serving platter returned, please ensure your name is clearly marked on the bottom of the dish and remember to claim it before leaving after the concert.
We will have a table and sign-in sheet set up in the hallway between the library and auditorium, starting around 6:30PM where you can drop off your baked goods.
If you are able to donate baked goods for the concert Thursday Oct 8th, please send an email to Becky Collins to confirm you are bringing a dessert or TWO! We like to have an idea of how much is coming so we set up enough tables.
Thanks,
Becky Collins

Band Individual Pictures: Re-take Option
Cady Studios was the photographer used on July 17th for all band photos. They have offered to retake individual photos of our band students if you are not happy with the results. The date is TBD, and will likely be before a Milton Football Game, when the students are already in uniform for the game.
There is nothing you need to do now if you want to have pictures retaken. However, by now, you should have received an email from "Cady Studios Athletics" which will show you a preview of your student's individual pictures from that day. If you have NOT received this yet, or if you have any questions for Cady Studios, please contact:

Old Soldiers Day Parade
New drop-off location
Get Dropped off at First Baptist of Alpharetta (44 Academy Street) by 8:30am, and then walk a few blocks to the Old Milton High School (86 School Drive, Alpharetta). This is a different drop off location than last year. Flutes, Clarinets, Alto Saxes, Trumpets will transport their own equipment, low brass, low saxes, flags and drums and the parade banner (carried by the pit) will be transported via the band trailer that will be loaded after Thursday’s practice. Dress for the parade will be khaki shorts, show shirts, and tennis shoes (same as band camp performance).
*because of the reflective material on this year's show shirts, they will last longer if washed inside-out.
