District Honor Band auditions will be postponed until next Saturday. It will still take place at Alpharetta HS, but an entirely new schedule will be created and released mid-week. If you have any special time requests, it is your responsibility to email Mr. Shumick by the end of the weekend.

Congratulations Marching Band

Congratulations to the Marching Band for their incredible performance at Saturday's St. Pius High School "Lion's Den Invitational" competition. With a score of 96, the band earned all superior ratings, caption awards for best drum majors, colorguard and percussion, 1st in open class honors and was named "Grand Champions!"

Milton Band Boosters is happy to announce the 13th annual White Columns Invitational Marching Band competition on November 4th. We will be hosting 18 bands from all over metro Atlanta from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Schedule can be found HERE. Milton will be performing an exhibition at 9:45pm; they will not be judged with the other bands since we are the hosts.

This is an ALL hands on deck type of event and we are asking ALL families to complete at least 1 shift. Please sign up by following the link below. This is a great way to reach those 40 volunteer hours and watch some amazing bands perform on our own home field.

It’s time – registration for the band banquet is now open. Our annual band banquet will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at Marriott Alpharetta (5750 Windward Parkway). All band and color guard students and parents please join us for a fun evening where we will enjoy a recap of a great year, honor each student and applaud our seniors. Dinner for the evening is an Italian buffet – Molto Bene! Doors open at 6:30 and dinner is served at 7:00. All band students, freshman through seniors, parents and other guests, are invited to attend and can register using the link below. Registration closes on Sunday, May 7 at midnight so make sure to register soon!

Congratulations to the Varsity Winterguard for once again being named WGI Atlanta Regional Finalists. In addition to being named regional finalists, the guard placed in the top 5 for the entire day of preliminary competition from groups from around the southeast at McEachern High School. Way to go!

Students are excused from school 7th period on Friday to facilitate travel. They do not need to be checked out from the attendance office. Please be punctual and students must attend ALL rehearsals. If a student misses a rehearsal, he/she will no longer be eligible to participate in the remainder of the honor band weekend.

CLINICIAN: This year we will be featuring a 9/10 Concert Band and 11/12 Symphonic Band. The 9/10 Concert Band guest conductor will be Mr. Stephen McCarthy from Creekview High School. The 11/12 Honor Wind Ensemble guest conductor will be Dr. Sarah Labovitz from Arkansas State University.



CONCERT RECORDINGS: A professional recording of the District V High School Honor Bands will be made. Compact discs can be ordered on the evening of the concert. Orders will be shipped to each school for distribution by the band director.



MISCELLANEOUS: Please have your students bring all possible musical equipment (including a pencil) for rehearsals, including a music stand. Please make sure that all personal belongings are tagged or taped with students name and school prominently displayed.



Students are to wear their band uniform or appropriate attire for the concert.
