Anyi's mother has HIV and their stepfather is a drug addict and alcoholic. She has several siblings that have also been entered into the homes. She was abandoned by their mother leaving the children to constantly be hungry. Her older brothers have visited their mother in the hospital and were very affectionate towards her. The children have been subject to an HIV test and tested negative. Anyi's favorite hobby is drawing.
